John Bishop and Russell Howard take on Hollywood for GQ's annual comedy issue
GQ's annual comedy issue is back - and the comedians are getting dressed up...
John Bishop, Russell Howard, Katherine Ryan and Carly Smallman are among the comedy stars dressing as their favourite film characters in GQ's annual comedy issue for 2014.
The photos - taken by photographer Gavin Bond - are part of an issue that also includes Monty Python, Russell Kane and Wes Anderson.
Bishop takes on the Godfather, while Howard plays around with some Star Wars' stormtroopers. Smallman slinks up to take on Jessica Rabbit, while Katherine Ryan is whirled off to Kansas as The Wizard of Oz's Dorothy.
Coinciding with the issue's release, a GQ Comedy Extravaganza is being held at the Hammersmith Apollo on Monday, featuring the four acts shown here plus Greg Davies, Milton Jones, Lee Mack, Sara Pascoe, Omid Djalili, Jason Byrne, Russell Peters and Russell Kane, with the GQ's own comedy editor James Mullinger acting as MC.
Chris O'Dowd takes the cover, celebrating his continued rise in Hollywood.
See the acts - and everyone else involved in the issue - in character in this promo video for tomorrow's issue...
From the April comedy issue of GQ, on sale Thursday 6th March. All photographs by Gavin Bond. The GQ Comedy Extravaganza Live takes place on Monday 10th March at the Eventim Apollo, London.
