Nick Helm screaming

A round-up of all the hottest videos this week, including a new comedy super couple, of fantasy sorts.

Coupling off: part one

It's a week for bad romance in video, but we'd like to propose a couple: CARIAD LLOYD AND NICK HELM. We abso-ruddy love the naturalistic, nervily charismatic Cariad Lloyd (currently looking distressed in the background of the flirt sketches in Cardinal Burns, fact fans) and she's all over BBC Comedy 'atm'. The latest in what would appear to be a developing set of videos on coupling off is about Vows, but for our money last week's on proposals was the real winner...

Coupling off: part two

That's one side of the equation: From Channel Four come the latest round of they-really-just-sprang-them-on-us-this-time Comedy Blaps. If you've seen a trailer for Nick Helm's contribution you might have written it off as a way-too-late micktake of The Streets, you would have been WRONG, and here's why. And this week he's listing 15 reasons why CARIAD LLOYD (probably) should couple off with him.

Time to stop hiding under the bridge...

Of all the many takedowns of internet trolling, this light-as-air merry song from Clever Pie and Isabel Fey is truly, stupendously the best, and includes Helen Lederer, Steve Furst, Richard Herring, Josie Long, Noel Clarke and Isy Suttie to name a few. DIZZYING.

Yes, we hang about in Catford a lot

A few weeks ago we went to a 'thing' in a burnt-out Blockbusters in Catford, where they played lots of old short films from fifteen-odd years ago that people had found down the back of the sofa. That came roaring back to mind after we were sent this pilot sketch show sent in from Seldom Differ, a canny blend of good ideas and super-sharp editing that feels like something you found while clearing out your nan's house. Worth a look.

Sketch + E4 = working quite well

After the tremendous tour de force that was Cardinal Burns, it's Midnight Beast's turn to do a sketch show on E4, bringing their internet songs to TV. Here's an odd promo behind-the-scenes thing that Channel 4 have released.
