An Alan Partridge movie is to start filming this year ahead of a release in 2013, co-writer Armando Iannucci has revealed.
In an interview with Empire, he said: "At the moment it's called 'The Alan Partridge Movie' but that's just a working title. [The script] is written [but] we're always rewriting, rewriting and rewriting."
The script is being put together by Coogan, Iannucci, and long-time collaborators Peter Baynham, and Rob and Neil Gibbons.
BBC Films have chosen Declan Lowney, who previously directed Coogan's cruise-ship comedy Cruise of the Gods, to direct it, while Iannucci will serve as an executive producer.
We will first see Alan Partridge back for a second series of Mid Morning Matters through Fosters later this year, while the first series will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic.
