Eddie Izzard is set to take a break from politics to return to his comedy roots this summer with an appearance at stadium-sized outdoor festival in Laughs In The Park in Hertfordshire.
Izzard is set to join a stellar line-up of comedians including Ross Noble and Tommy Tiernan for the 20,000 capacity event which apparently needs 3450 cups of tea (among other things) to organise.
The three-day festival, which is organised by the BBC and Just For Laughs, is set to take place in St Alban’s Verulamium Park on July 22, 23 and 24th.
The BBC is set to broadcast the event live as well as presenting a new talent stage BBC Presents.
Jack Cheshire, Executive Producer of BBC Red Button said: "We're delighted to be able to offer such truly multiplatform coverage of this event.
"It's a unique synergy of every thing BBC Comedy does best – on TV, radio, online and live – and a brilliant opportunity for the BBC to get involved with a high-profile event promoting both new and established talent at an early stage.
Tickets cost from £20 including booking fee, or alternatively you could stump up £175 for a VIP ticket which allows you exclusive access to the VIP marquee, granting the opportunity to mingle with celebrities and comedic royalty alike.
