This year’s Comic Relief campaigns have kicked off in earnest this week with the launch of two fund-raising initiatives.
Alongside The Inbetweener’s rude road trip of the UK, it seems that Stephen Fry, Jimmy Carr, Al Murray and Frank Skinner are facing up for a snack-based comedy battle.
The four comedians will be joining crisp addict Gary Lineker and Walkers crisps to conjure up their own flavour of crisps for the campaign. The Stephen Fry Up, Jimmy Con Carrne, Steak and Al Pie, and Frank Roast Dinner flavour packets of crisps are set to hits the shelves this week, with Walkers donating 5p from the sale of each pack to Comic Relief.
The comedian whose flavour is most popular will be announced on Red Nose Day, while the other three will face the uncomfortable forfeit of being waxed in public.
Speaking about his own flavour Fry said:“My crisps perfectly embody each delicious component of the great British fry up, with layer upon layer of quivering, shivering tastes that keep on giving.”
Frank Skinner meanwhile has championed his own root vegetable ambitions, saying: All my life I've searched for something that was truly worth fighting for - something noble, uplifting and made from potatoes; then came Frank's Roast Dinner crisps.”
