John Cleese has caused a stir after appearing in an Israeli advert which appears to endorse the bombing of Iran.
Cleese plays the role of a US general who sanctions an air strike of an 'unknown' enemy after tasting a delicious nutty spread.
The advert, which was filmed at Cleese's house in Monaco, opens with a high-level military meeting where Israeli military officers ask for permission to launch an attack, saying 'we have the right to defend outselves.
Cleese is distracted by a the pot of HaSachar Haole's Sababa Egozim spread and, after tasting the delicious product, shouts a phrase in Hebrew which according to the Jerusalem Post translates as 'great stuff'. Other translations claim Cleese as saying 'let's go nuts'.
The military generals then high five before the ad fades out. Cleese, who has been heavily criticsed for appearing in the ad, was paid $50,000 for the slot.
