It's not every day that you get to be hassled by a Hollywood star, but then again this is the Edinburgh Fringe.

This year it seems that even the A'list is willing to chip in and do the dirty work after John Malkovich was spotted handing out flyers for his Edinburgh Show.

The veteran Hollywood actor is currently in Edinburgh to direct a show by Julian Sands A Celebration of Harold Pinter. The pair starred in the film the Killing Fields in the early 1980s, and have stayed friends ever since.

Speaking to the BBC Malkovich joked about being spurned by the public in his new flyering role: "You always get turned away. That's your lot in life."

Talking about the new show, which Sands takes the late Pinter's place to recite a number of poems and political prose, Malkovich said: "Julian is one of my oldest friends. We've been fantastic friends for 28 years and even if I wasn't involved I would have just come to see it."

Pinter, whose plays include the The Homecoming, The Birthday Party and The Caretaker, died almost three years ago.

A Celebration of Harold Pinter is showing at The Pleasance between 6th - 21st August. For more details click here...
