Tim Minchin headlines Rockness 2012 comedy stage
Tim Minchin is set to headline the comedy stage at Rockness this summer after the festival revealed it’s comedy line-up.
The Aussie musical comedian is set to be joined by Scottish comic star Daniel Sloss, Des Clarke, Benny Boot and Marty McLean among others during weekend festival.
The annual shindig on the shores of Lochness has played host to some of the rising stars of the comedy world, with a mix of home-grown talent rubbing shoulders with top names such as Minchin.
Among the favourites on the bill is another Australian comic, Benny Boot, whose alter ego Water Montgomery, the big-wigged South African and ‘President of Stand-Up Comedy’ renowned for unleashing an arsenal of consistently brilliant gags in a unique manner of disdain.
Also set to entertain the Scottish audiences The Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III, who asks himself Charlie Sheen do? A question which in our book could present a number of answers mostly resulting in the removal of a festival wristband if not a jail term, but could be entertaining nonetheless.
Speaking about the RockNess comedy line-up Festival Director Jim King said ““The comedy programme has been a brilliant addition to the festival and its gone from strength to strength. Led by Tim Minchin, we've got a great announcement of the very best from the Scottish comedy circuit and so the pub is going to be the place to grab a drink, kick back and have a few laughs.”
RockNess 2012 takes place 8-10 June, 2012 in the village of Dores, close to Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.
