Specky sidekick takes centre stage
Everyone’s favourite straightman, David Baddiel, is to follow in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela, Anne Frank and Peter Kay and write his memoirs.
Unlike these popular performers Baddiel will be focusing on the negative sides of his career, telling his story through bad reviews in the book for Fourth Estate.
Writing in The Times the comedian-cum-author said: "This may seem extremely masochistic, but I am always interested in newness, and it does seem to me something that hasn’t been done before."
That’s probably true and what better person to do it than Baddiel, a man who has received more abuse than most, mainly for the crime of hanging out with men who are slightly funnier than he is.
Still, SSP doesn’t care about balance and would love get ourselves into his book so we say David Baddiel is about as amusing as a night in with an All About Me boxset.
