Borat Lawsuit Thrown Out

Cohen beats frat-boy bullies

Two University of Carolina students have had their case against the makers of hit movie Borat thrown out of court.

Judge Joseph Biderman ruled that it was in the public interest for footage of the former frat boys to remain in the film. Christopher Rotunda and Justin Seay were filmed making homophobic and sexist comments in the 2006 blockbuster.

The pair filed a lawsuit against 20th Century Fox and the character’s creator, Sacha Baron Cohen, in November last year, claiming that the film’s producers had duped them into making the statements after “loosening them up” with free drinks.

The students' lawyer plans to appeal the decision, although any hopes of saving face would appear slim – one of the key points of their defense was that “Mr Cohen lies really well”.
