Pegg and Wright walk the fat blue line
Action comedy Hot Fuzz remains top of the UK and Ireland box office charts for the third week in a row.
The film, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, knocked Hugh Grant’s rom-com Music and Lyrics from the top spot and held off the challenge from Jim Carrey thriller The Number 23, amassing an estimated £15.7m.
The film is set to face stiff competition this week from US box office smash Norbit, starring Eddie Murphy as an obese black woman (again) trying to find love with a skinnier, male version of himself.
But Hot Fuzz fans are confident that Pegg’s hip British comedy is more than a match for what critics have termed a mess of "fat jokes" and "casual racism".
