TV honcho wants family-friendly sex appeal
Veteran producer of British Comedy Awards Michael Hurll is looking for a squeaky-clean double-act to spruce up TV schedules.
Not content with the success of Geordie duo Ant and Dec (who jointly won Best Comedy Entertainer Personality in 2003 and 2004, and whose ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ was voted The People's Choice Award winner in 2005), Hurll says the time is right for another family-friendly pairing.
The don of mainstream mirth would like to unite Perrier/if.comeddie nominees Michael McIntyre and Russell Howard in a two Ronnies-type affair. Unlike flat-faced pedant Jimmy Carr or fat-of-the-land Johnny Vegas, McIntyre and Howard have that essential TV star asset: sex appeal.
But is Hurll out of step? See the studs for yourself before you decide. Catch Howard's Wandering tour from 19 Feb-24 April and McIntyre from 4–21 April.
