Jo Brand Headlines International Women’s Day Benefit Gig
Female comics stand up for abused women
The fair sex still aren’t getting a fair deal, and the fourth annual Funny Women show is broadcasting the fact tonight at the Hammersmith Palais.
Radio 4 regular Jo Caulfield will compère the night which features headliner Jo Brand, celebrity impressionist Jan Ravens and comedy cellist Rebecca Carrington (plus Joe, the cello).
Expect things to get frank, fierce and very funny – entry is for over-18s only and costs £20. Profits will go to two worthy causes: ActionAid and V-Day Until the Violence Stops.
There will be a free glass of wine for all. So whether you’re a comedy connoisseur, do-gooder or feminist fatale, get down there and help improve women’s lives around the world.
