Forget sloshing around in galoshes at Glastonbury or baking in Benicissam this summer, Berkshire’s where it’s at.
The line-up at this year’s Newbury Comedy festival is the stuff of any comedy aficionado’s wet dream.
Confirmed acts include many British comedy scene staples – Josie Long, Paul Sinha Russell Kane, Lucy Porter, Stephen K Amos, Shazia Mirza and Mark Thomas.
But the event is also taking on an international flavour with the likes of Susie Essman, star of TV’s Curb Your Enthusiasm – who is making her UK debut – Irish stand-ups and TV star Ed Byrne and Ardal O’Hanlon, European Comedy Award winning mime artist Paolo Nani, and triple Perrier-nominated Aussie favourite Adam Hills.
And of course it’s sponsored by the good people at Vodaphone.
The festival runs from July 7-14. Tickets go on sale on May 7. For more information call the box office on 01635 582666 or visit: www.newburyfestival.com
