South Park Team in Re-release Backlash
Oh my god! They digitised Kenny!
Potty-mouthed South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have slammed the culture of incessant movie re-re-re-remarketing by making a ‘re-mastered’ high definition episode of their über-crude cartoon.
The ‘new’ version of ‘Good Times with Weapons’, an episode from season eight of the show, will be available free of charge on the Xbox Live Marketplace between 6 and 20 March.
Bringing high definition to a series famed for its simple animation is classic South Park self-parody. The jibe echoes the season 6 episode ‘Free Hat’, where a pseudo-ad for a digitally re-mastered version of South Park’s pilot episode aired before the commercial break.
Meanwhile, Parker and Stone’s own relatively restrained re-release programme continues. Season 11 of South Park will be available on Xbox Live from 13 March.
