Mitchell and Webb in New Radio 2 Show
That Mitchell and Webb sound
David Mitchell and Robert Webb continue to crunk their coffers with their new Radio 2 prime-time comedy show, to debut next Saturday.
Mitchell plays Ray, a sci-fi writer who, not unlike Iain M. Banks, dashes out a new novel every week.
Like all good novelists, Ray draws from everyday life to complete his tomes. Hence, his chatterbox lodger Colin (Webb) morphs into a robot called Info, while Ray immortalises himself into the hard-working ‘Baron Amstrad’.
So, expect Peep Show self-mockery, L. Ron Hubbard-style scientology with a down home dash of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang bonkersness, I reckon.
Daydream Believers, written and starring the peeping twosome, is broadcast at 1pm, on 5 May.
It also stars Mark Benton, Olivia Colman, Simon Greenall and Mark Evans and is produced by Gareth Edwards
