Friday Night Dinner could be heading to the states after NBC gave the green light to a pilot of the Channel 4 show.
The sitcom, which saw Tom Rosenthal join Simon Bird as two siblings in a Jewish family which reunite for a meal every Friday night, will be remade for an American audience by King of the Hill creator Greg Daniels.
Friday Night Dinner, which also stars Tamsin Greig, debuted on Channel 4 early last year and has been commissioned for a second series later this year.
Friday Night Dinner isn't the only Jewish family comedy to be launched however as rival network HBO have commissioned Ben Stiller to direct a pilot about a Jewish family living in Washington D.C.
Stiller has cast himself as the lead in the new show which will also star Alan Alda and Jonathan Safran Foer .
